Applying for Housing with Endeavour Housing Association
Please read the questions carefully on the enclosed application form and ensure all questions are answered before you return the form to us.
When you return the form, you must enclose the following information. If you do not provide the information, or your form is incomplete, it will be returned to you and your form will not be registered until all information has been received.
Proof of identity - provide 1 item from the following list for each applicant
(please do not send the originals, send copies as we need to keep the documents on file)
Acceptable forms of identity could be:
- Birth certificate
- Passport
- Medical Card
- Driving Licence
Proof of address - provide 1 item from the following list for each applicant
Acceptable forms of proof of address could be:
- Utility bill
- Council Tax Bill
- Housing Benefit letter
- Child benefit letter/book
- Bank statement
- Tenancy Agreement
References
A written reference from your landlord if you rent your current home
If you do not have a landlord, please provide a written character reference from a professional person who has known you for at least 2 years, i.e. employer, GP, health visitor, community worker, probation officer. A joint applicant will be required to supply a character reference if they do not have a landlord.
You will need to provide documentary evidence for certain parts of the application form:
Section 2. Your current home:
Section A: If you have a shorthold tenancy and your tenancy is due to expire you will need to enclose the notice to vacate letter confirming the date your tenancy expires.
Section D: If you tick that your present home is in need of major repair or poor state of repair then you would need to provide a letter from Environmental health confirming this has been reported to them.
Also under section 2 of the form please note that it requires you to tick one main reason for wishing to be re-housed, if you tick more than one box then the form will be returned to you for amendment.
We will require evidence that you have contacted the police to report incidents of harassment if this is the main reason for wishing to be re housed.
We will require evidence you are experiencing difficulties paying your rent or mortgage if this is the main reason for wishing to be re housed. Please forward a copy of your rent or mortgage statement. Further advice and assistance can be obtained from the Citizens advice bureau.
Section 3. Medical information:
If you are registered disabled complete the section confirming the nature of the condition and how it affects your ability to manage in your current home, you will also need to provide your latest letter confirming you have been awarded or are receiving Disability Living Allowance together with a letter from your Doctor or Consultant confirming your condition.
If you are not registered disabled but have a medical condition that affects your ability to manage your current home then you would need to send a letter from your Doctor or consultant confirming your condition.
