How your Application is Assessed

Our Points System Table

Current Tenure (Points can only be awarded for 1 section in this group)

If you currently have no home at all or will have no home within 28 days, for example:

  • Rough sleepers/homeless
  • Repossession of home by building society/bank/landlord (we will need proof of the date that you have to leave your present accommodation)
50 Points

If you are in the following type of accommodation:

  • Hostel or temporary accommodation/B&B/caravan (please give details)
  • Assured Shorthold Tenancy with private landlord and have been given notice to leave (We will need to see the notice)
  • Tied Accommodation including H.M. Forces (we will need to see notice)
20 Points

Overcrowding/Underoccupation (Points can only be awarded for 1 section in this group)

Overcrowding – points are awarded for each bedroom short, including children over 10 years old sharing a bedroom with another child of the opposite sex, or sharing with parents

10 points for each room short or underoccupied

Lacking basic amenities (Points can only be awarded for 1 section in this group)

Lacking basic amenities – if you do not have a kitchen, bathroom, heating or hot water

Up to 30 points

Sharing basic amenities – if you are sharing a kitchen or bathroom with other people who are not in your immediate family

Up to 20 points

Property Condition – if your property is in poor condition, i.e., damp, dangerous electrical fittings, subsidence etc.

Please give details of disrepair and provide a report from Environment Health

Up to 20 points

Social Issues (Points can only be awarded for 1 section from this group)

Harassment – if there is a direct threat to your safety in your home due to violence, harassment or abuse towards you or your household. (Proof will be required, e.g. police reports)

30 points

Split families – if you are living apart from a member of your family who requires housing with you (Please give full details of the member of family, their relationship to you and why you are living apart)

15 points

Provide/receive support – if you need to move to any area to provide or receive support from other family members (Please give details)

10 point

Social Points

Requiring sheltered accommodation or supported housing – if you feel you need accommodation where there may be a scheme manager on site or a warden call system and communal facilities or if you feel you would benefit by having access to specialist support workers (Please give details of your needs)

20 points

Ready to leave home/independence – if you still live with parents and feel ready to manage your own home

10 points

Medical – points are awarded to according to the extent to which the applicant’s present housing affects their quality of life (Points can only be awarded for 1 section in this group)

Severe – if you have severe mobility problems which mean you cannot access parts of your home or you have severe heart problems

30 points

Minor – if you suffer from arthritis or respiratory problems which make moving around your home more difficult

Please provide details of your medical condition, how it affects your life in your present accommodation and supporting documentation from your doctor

Economic (Points can only be awarded for 1 section in this group)

For work/school – where you need to move into an area for work (you have already had a job offer) or your children need to attend a specialist school (will need to see proof of job offer or school need)

Unable to pay mortgage/rent – should you be experiencing financial difficulties and are in arrears with your mortgage/rent

Please provide evidence to support this and reasons for debt

Transfers

Existing Endeavour Tenants who wish to move house and have held their tenancy for 12 months and have regularly paid their rent and have not been found guilty for any anti-social behaviour

Management Points

These points are awarded by the Housing Operations Co-ordinator to allow allocations to people who are in urgent housing need, but are outside the points scheme, or for greater estate management control
