Adaptions
We are committed to ensuring that the housing we provide can meet the needs of people who have a disability. We have always responded positively to requests for adaptations and we aim to provide an effective service that delivers maximum benefit.
Each year we set aside £25,000 to provide essential adaptations to our Tenants. We involve disabled people in the assessment of their own needs as they are the expert and should be carefully listened to along with the views of their carer. A combination of the expertise of professionals and the views of the disabled person enable an inclusive and sustainable solution.
If you are having difficulty getting around your home, we can help by adapting your home to better suit your needs. We can provide handrails, special taps, over bath showers, level access showers, stair lifts etc. We will work closely with Social Services who also may be able to provide grant funding for adaptations in your home.
If you think you need your home adapting please contact your Housing Officer for further advice. Endeavour Housing Association will carry out any minor adaptations up to £500 without a referral from the Occupational Therapist.
We are currently fundamentally reviewing our approach towards adaptations.
