Housing Benefit

If you have a low income, you may be entitled to housing benefit to help with your housing costs. The amount of housing benefit you receive depends on your individual circumstances and takes in to account:

  • income and savings
  • who lives in your household
  • the amount of rent you are charged

Your housing officer can help you fill in a housing benefit form.

For more information on making a claim, go to your local council’s website. The website will also have a housing benefit calculator that you can use to work out if you are entitled to housing benefit.
